Aeden has positional placiography (sp?) and torticullis (tightening of a neck muscle) which caused a severe flat spot on his head. So he has to wear a DOC band that applies pressure in certain areas and alleviates pressure in the flat areas to allow his head to round out more.
Aeden got his DOC band today (4 days earlier than expected). Woohoo. It is complicated though, and we have to take it off and monitor red spots (pressure points...where the band is applying pressure) for the first 48 hours...the band comes off every 3 hours until the red spots go away...hopefully within the first hour. Still waiting and this is the first time that we have taken it off...the hour is almost up, I hope they go away soon, because I really want this to work out, and not have to go in for readjustments before he goes over to wearing it 23/7. As it is he has to go in every week for them to check it. So anyway, that was a really long run-on sentence. He thinks he looks really funny...when I put him in front of the mirror he smiles at himself.
