I love when Eric is sharing knowledge and Aeden actually looks like he is interested and listening. It warms the heart. :)

No Credentials Needed

Aeden's principal obtained his doctorate over the summer and now the students call him Dr. D....

Aeden asked me why he was now called Dr. if he wasn't a Dr. (of the medical variety). So I explained about credentials and going to school to get your doctorate etc.

Apparently my reasoning regarding the need for credentials was not convincing enough because Aeden has decided that he is going to be known as:

"Mr. Dr. Professor Aeden"

Notes Home

Aeden loves to make lists. As we clean and declutter our house I have come across lists he has made in years past for gift ideas, or to-do lists of things he wants to do. Last night I was reading a list of rules that he wrote in 2009 for Eric and I.

This year he has started writing notes and lists at school. He has a list of spelling words that he started...they are the words he has missed on all his spelling tests so far this year...the list has 2 words on it (I think he has missed one since then but once a list is made it seems to get left behind until thought of again).

He has also been writing notes to me and putting them in his take-home folder that I check every night. I usually read them and respond. The note that he wrote me last week made me laugh as there was also a challenge in it...one that I failed miserably, but Eric solved. :P

He is such a creative kid! He is working on a comic similar to Garfield and references that in his note, as well as movie viewing requests that he isn't sure I will agree to, and then a problem for me to solve. He then follows it up by signing from and then his full name...I hear his dad used to do something similar on the signing of his full name. :)

Hawk

As I turned onto our street this hawk flew into the tree across the street from our house. He then kindly waited while I got my camera. All of these pictures have been cropped.

Thank you Grandma & Grandpa

Thank you notes are a little bit late as we just put all but three in the mail. Sorry! The other three will be sent out once we manage to go get stamps...

We had a blast! Hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries, running after the blimp, and throwing pucks onto the ice. Oh and watching the hockey game and learning grumbling about penalties. It was a good time. :)

Blizzard 2010

The wreath on our door looked very festive this morning.

Snow in the backyard. What is odd/amusing is that the people across the street barely had any snow on their trees...it seems to have come to our trees!

The snow stuck to the icicles that had formed earlier in the week.

Aeden had fun blazing a trail through the snow in the front yard.

Aeden made himself a seat in the snow on the raised border that is normally a significant drop from the front yard to the backyard.
