Relaxing Sun Rainbows

We spent Saturday afternoon relaxing after the boys put together my hammock.

Aeden had to test out the hammock to make sure it worked well.

Then Aeden and I both relaxed and made sure the hammock worked with more than one person. Amusing to Aeden was that before we got it set at a good height my bottom touched the ground with both of us in it. :P

After dealing with both Aeden and I, Eric got a chance to relax in my chair. :)

Then I spotted a sun rainbow and made another one of those mistakes that parents often make. I told Aeden about the sun rainbow.

Which meant that relaxing time was over, instead he wanted us to follow the sun rainbow to the end and find a pot of gold. No discussion of how the sun rainbow is in space would deter him.

Who can resist such charm? (Actually his parents can, at least until most of the sun rainbow had dissipated and it was too hot in the hammock!)

Happy Birthday to Me!

Here it is the post I have been promising and promising.

I had a great birthday. The day before we bought these yummy mini-donuts from Starbucks for my birthday breakfast. The boys made me breakfast in bed and Eric sent Aeden in to take my order.

Aeden: What do you want for breakfast?

Me: Bacon, eggs, and toast

Aeden: That isn't a good breakfast choice, that is a good dinner choice.

Eric: What did Mommy want for breakfast?

Aeden: Nothing!

Then it was announced that there was a special for me in Aeden's store. For one day only, because it was my birthday I could get a deal. Buy one Get one free!!
I bought a medium-size basket for $1.05, got a "ring" for free (because they were the same price) and then because it was such a good deal I bought a "hole" for $0.20.

The ring is actually a bracelet but Aeden calls it a ring. The "hole" is the green and black thing.

They were unpainted but before I paid I made sure that they were going to be painted before I picked them up. He said yes, sadly buyers couldn't have custom colors done, they were all painted to the artist's specifications.

Good thing I asked if they would be painted and got a receipt because it occurred to Aeden later that he could charge extra for painting items!!! If I hadn't had a receipt I fear the cost might have gone up. ;)

Since they were being painted I was told that I would get a phone call when they were ready.

(phone rings)

Me: Hello?
Aeden: Hi Mommy. Your things aren't ready yet, the ring part fell off and I have to fix it.

Me: Okay, I will pick them up before bedtime tonight.

Aeden: Okay

(I call Aeden)

Me: Hello may I speak to Aeden please?

Aeden: Hello

Me: Are my items ready to be picked up yet?

Aeden: Not yet! I will call you when they are ready.

(phone rings)

Me: Hello?

Aeden: Hi Mommy your things are all done. You can pick them up now.

Me: Okay I will pick them up before bedtime. Thank you.

Aeden: Bye love you.

(phone rings--NJ are calling)

Aeden {yelling through the house}: It's not me this time!!!

Hours of operation at Aeden's store.

I also got a beautiful card made by Aeden. It has lots of flowers drawn on it because "Mommy likes flowers".

First strike

Aeden went to a birthday party at a bowling alley today. He ended up bowling a 92 and actually got a strike!!

Payment of $2

I ran into the library today to pick up some books while Eric and Aeden stayed in the car. They ended up having an interesting discussion about how Aeden wants to be an artist and store owner (because he already has lots to sell) when he grows up.

When I got back to the car they were discussing where clay comes from and why you have to buy it.

This led to Aeden telling Eric he could work at his store and that he would pay him $2 a day.

I agreed to that and then Aeden tried to reduce Eric's pay to $1, and then $1.50. Eric pointed out that it would have to be at least $2 so that he could buy me T*co B*ll and he would just not get to eat.

So Aeden piped up saying that he would have to think about the amount and they could discuss it later...when he (aeden) is older. :D

New posts in archives

There are so many Aeden stories that I am already forgetting. To try and recapture them I am perusing e-mails/forums/baby book/etc to see if I can find and record the stories here in the blog.

If you feel like walking down memory lane, feel free to read through the archives. It is apparent to me that Aeden has had a strong personality all his life. ;)

A new post about my great birthday deal coming soon...as soon as I upload the pictures to go with it!

The plans expand...

Upon eating an Edy's lemonade popsicle Aeden remarked that he could have frozen lemons at his lemonade stand.

Do you think I need to start buying him entrepreneurial magazines?

Nicer

{scene: Aeden is climbing and whineing because I won't let him have any clay or paints since it is a school night and they are highly messy and I know he is going to want to watch a show with Daddy}

Me: Play in your room or play in your playroom.

Aeden: That is so mean. Get a little nicer. I say this every day and you don't get any nicer. Ugh!

**Note: I do not find this irritating but massively amusing as he was saying this in a disgruntled tone while going into his playroom.
